The subject site is situated on the A396 Heathcote Way approximately 1 km south west of its junction with the A361 dual carriageway. Tesco, Homebase, B&M Stores and McDonalds are all located close to the site on the A396. Aldi Stores Limited has entered into a subject to planning contract to acquire Elmore Football Club’s current ground at Heathcote Way (A396) to the east of Tiverton. The club will be relocating to a new ground near the town as part of the project. Aldi will shortly make a planning application for their new store development and the new football ground. The Aldi will be a model store with a gross internal area of 19,235 sq ft and 127 car parking spaces. Access will be from a new junction onto the A396. Adjacent to the entrance to the new store is a development site of circa 0.59 acres. This site is suitable for a range of uses that will complement the Aldi store, including drive thrus, petrol and electric car charging stations, trade counter and other retail and road side uses.
