The property comprises a mixed use building of traditional masonry construction, finished with Ruabon terracotta and Norwegian granite which is heavily ornamented on both façades with seraphic faces. Internally the building provides retail space at basement and ground floor level and separate office space over the five upper floors. The building is on the site of a former 17th century coach house called the Angel Inn, which lent its name to the surrounding area. The property was rebuilt in 1801 and then again in 1903. The addition of the dome turned the building into a timeless landmark, bearing the name the Angel Hotel. The building was included as the ‘Angel Islington’ on Waddington’s Monopoly board, unwittingly committing this historic property into modern legend.
