The building lies on the western portion of the site, addressing the junction. It fronts directly onto the footpath along St Margarets, with an entrance into the building off this. It is brick built with a flat roof. It is single storey around most of the periphery, with a two storey block in the centre of the building. The wider area is supported by an excellent range of infrastructure including food and non-food retail offers, educational facilities, a community centre, various places of worship, a theatre and library and two major open spaces (Barking Abbey Grounds and Greatfields Park).
