The area is centrally located within the lively city of Birmingham, which is the second largest city in the UK and the social, cultural, financial and commercial centre of the Midlands. UK Government departments like the Department for Work and Pensions and the Environment Agency make their home in the Jewellery Quarter.

Birmingham’s resident population totals 1.14 million, which is the largest in the West Midlands and one of the highest catchments in the UK.
