The Traverse Bay Inn has a total of twenty-two rooms. Twenty rooms have complete kitchenettes. Fifteen of those rooms are two-story, two-bedroom units, of which four have whirlpools on the second floor. One room is one-story with two-bedrooms. Two rooms are Studios, more on the order of a standard guest room, still with kitchenettes, but smaller. Additionally there are two rooms that serve as manager's quarters. Typically, during the high season (June - Sept) these rooms are also rented to guest. All guest rooms are heated by electric base boards and cooled by individual through-the-wall air conditioners. The office area is heated and cooled by an HVAC system. All rooms have kitchenettes are fully furnished including flat screen television w/cable and tastefully decorated. There is a guest laundry on-site and a detached pool building. Parking is paved and conveniently available in front of each guest room. The Traverse City area is the largest producer of tart cherries in the United States. Near the time of harvest, the city hosts the annual week-long National Cherry Festival during the first full week of July, attracting approximately 500,000 visitors. Located along the eastern coastline of Lake Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore covers 35 miles and was named "The Most Beautiful Place in America" by Good Morning America in 2011. Traverse City is celebrated for its shopping and recreational opportunities, as well as its quality cuisine, wine and culture; making it one of Michigan's most popular year around destination cities.
