About SE Alamance County Industrial
Burlington, North Carolina, is part of the Piedmont Triad, a region in North Carolina encompassing the Greensboro-High Point and Winston-Salem metropolitan areas. Historically, the metro’s local economy was centered around textile, tobacco, and furniture manufacturing, but the area has become the center of various industries in recent decades. The region’s robust community of colleges and universities offers a larger-than-average talent pool for diverse employers. However, trade, transportation, and manufacturing continue to make up a large portion of the Piedmont Triad region’s workforce.
The city of Burlington, just east of Greensboro, has garnered attention from distribution, logistics, and manufacturing tenants in recent years, thanks to the Triad region’s central location within North Carolina. Much of the industrial activity in the area is due to its infrastructure and access to quality labor related to manufacturing. The region southeast of Burlington’s core holds the lion’s share of industrial inventory in the area. It has access to Interstates 40 and 80, which are just under an hour's drive to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
