They finished that single family renovation, sold the property, and got to work on a foreclosed duplex. Next was a fourplex. Nine months later, both were sold and two six unit buildings were on the books, along with a three unit and another foreclosed duplex. Having relocated from NH to Brooklyn, they optimized these buildings through new management and renovations.
Now living in Kansas City, Mark and Phoebe have made another leap by selling their NH portfolio of 18 doors and investing in a 74 unit 12-story tower and a 43 unit historic repurposed hotel. They’re also developing a 60yrs vacant, 1900’s 4 story commercial building into a boutique hotel, as well as the Blue Ridge Tower, a 10 story commercial building located in eastern Jackson County, in the KC Metro.
Mark began working as a musician in England, splitting his time between playing and teaching. He transitioned into real estate mostly by chance, as he and Phoebe dove into projects renovating their first house. Mark’s first experience with a sawzall saw it plow through the exterior wall and through the siding… and the story so far has been full of similar ‘hands on’ learning moments!
Mark loves a challenge and relishes the opportunities that new development projects present. He’s often the one who sources the deals and has an eye for finding what's next. He’s big into personal growth, enjoys playing the contrarian and generally likes to push ahead on all fronts!
