The site is located in Moreton, on the north coast of the Wirral Peninsula. It lies approximately 4 miles west of Birkenhead, 5 miles to the north east of West Kirby and 7.5 miles to the west of Liverpool. Moreton benefits from easy road access to the M53 motorway and connects south to Chester and east (via the Kingsway Tunnel) to Liverpool. In addition Moreton train station, located to the north of the village, provides regular services to West Kirby and Liverpool city centre via the Merseyrail network. The site itself is located off Douglas Drive to the west of the village centre. Douglas Drive, via Ely Avenue, connects to Hoylake Road which forms one of the main arterial routes into and out of Moreton and links it with Wirral’s signature coastlines. The site is bound by Douglas Drive and Ely Avenue to the north and west respectively, with existing residential housing on the remaining boundary
