618 Church Street was home to Nashville’s most iconic department store for 90 years. Castner-Knott Dry Goods, more commonly known as Castner-Knott, moved to its five-story location on Church Street in 1906. The former department store remained one of the largest department stores in Nashville until it closed in 1996.
