The main building built in 1930, with an addition built in the 1970s that has a community gathering room, a kitchen, and a classroom. The building was a series of churches until 2005, when it was bought by PIMC, a non-profit, non-denominational Buddhist meditation center. PIMC manages 8 commercial office spaces in its finished basement for practitioners of the healing arts, which helps fund and support PIMC in its core mission - to reduce suffering in the world. We've just completed a year of construction to do a variety of upgrades to the building, including the Tenants Wing in the basement. For the tenant offices, these improvements include: better, more efficient heat circulation (not so important now, but it will be in about six months), fire alarms in all offices, and new carpeting. You should know that us having vacancies, much less two, is very unusual for PIMC. We're pleased and proud to have a very low turnover, with all of our current tenants having been here for more than eight years. While we do price our offices below market rates, there's more to our tenants tending to stick around than that. We have such a low turnover because PIMC doesn't pretend to be a property manager. We rent these offices to help fund our primary mission as an Insight Meditation Center - that is, to reduce suffering in the world. Our tenants are part of the PIMC community - we treat them with honesty and respect, as well as flexibility. PIMC is open to office-share arrangements, with no more than two providers using one office. This can be done either as a lease/sub-lease, with one provider being on the lease, or as co-leasers, with both providers being on the lease together. The way in which two people share an office space is between them. All we require is the sub-leaser sign a sub-lease agreement and provide PIMC with a security deposit. NOTE: Sadly, our offices are not accessible for people in wheelchairs, as it's in the basement, reachable only by eight outside steps leading down from the ground level. While PIMC recently completed an extensive renovation to make the upper floor accessible and ADA compliant, this wasn't possible for the basement.
