An old army base with 1,126 acres of real estate spanning across parts of Eatontown, Oceanport and Tinton Falls, the redevelopment of Fort Monmouth will be groundbreaking. In 2006, former NJ Governor John Corzine signed into law the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority(FMERA) to plan the redevelopment of the Fort. There are 30 projects currently being developed at the Fort, with over $1 Billion in investment capital. The Commissary itself was the army base's convenience and grocery store. Surrounding The Commissary is proposed office space, industrial and flex space. Additional projects in the old army base include the discussion of Netflix production studios, residential projects including investments by Somerset Development, TetherView Property Management, and RPM Development Group. The first residential component of Fort Monmouth redevelopment has nearly sold out. There’s a new fitness facility across the way, The Fort Athletic Club, as well as single and multi level residence projects. The area surrounding The Commissary is proposed for office, industrial, and flex space. Netflix is in discussion for approximately 257 acres in Fort Monmouth as part of their production studios.
