Bert’s background includes a unique understanding of land and the process whereby new development opportunities are identified. Bert adds value with a firm understanding in all aspects of the land development and entitlement process Specific strategies are created and implemented to execute an assignment for the site search and selection of land acquisition for build-to-suit development. Detailed marketing and leasing programs are created in a team approach and implemented for new speculative development or the ongoing leasing of existing multi building portfolios. .In addition, Bert provides facility evaluation to occupiers/users and implements a managed process to identify and acquire new industrial facilities or sites/land or efficiently manage the disposition of corporate surplus properties. Over the last 36 months, Bert was involved in completed transactions valued in excess of $1 billion.
Before joining Avison Young, Bert led Cassidy Turley’s Virginia industrial practice and was also a top producer with CBRE. Before his tenure at CBRE, Bert was a principal at Connecticut-based Cambridge Hanover LP, where he was responsible for acquiring existing assets and structuring industrial build-to-suits and joint ventures with private and institutional investors throughout the East Coast and United States.
