Facilities
Seller will sell all assets used in the business to include equipment, furniture, fixtures, supplies, files, records, website, trade name, logo, social media accounts, reputation and goodwill and all other general intangibles used in the business. The inventory is also for sale (separately, not included in the asking price). The cost of the inventory will be determined at time of sale. Facilities include parking in front of the store. The current lease term is good through 10/31/26, and is renewable for another 3 years through 10/31/29.
Competition
There is no other independent bookstore nearby. In Port Charlotte, there is a BAM about 10 miles north. We don't seem to be greatly impacted by that big-box store, however.
Growth & Expansion
Ideas for future growth can include these strategies: reaching out to new residents (who continue to move here with enthusiasm), promoting programs and events both on and off site, developing a subscription program for grandparents other reading or gift-giving groups, ensuring an active events calendar to give people reasons to come into the bookstore, and expanding bulk sales to schools and other businesses and organizations in need of books.
Support & Training
Owners are willing to offer training and transition support for up to 6 months. Most of the part-time staff would like to remain working in the store.
