USA MADE - "American icon" brand from the 60s saved from brink!
Asking price is loose. The right person will make a fair deal.
This is a high value, wide margin product that has been around since the 60s with generations of loyal customers. There are approximately 4,500 units world wide - primarily in West Coast USA and Canada. USA made!
We are not interested in selling outright right off the bat so much as partnering with someone who has the infrastructure in place to ramp up production and take some pressure off us allowing us to further R+D, marketing, system development and then handing off ownership and responsibility over several years.
For the last 2.5 years, we have been elbows deep in this project and feel confident we have a handle on the nuance of the product that we will start taking deposits for new units starting Feburary 2025 for delivery within 6-12 mo. Actual demand is yet to be determinded, BUT our "highest volume domestic competitor" (for customer) just opened a state of the art 200k sq ft facility in Europe and have an 85k sq ft facility here in the US if that tells you anything about demand for the niche of product. Many users use our US "competitor's" products cooperatively with our product. Our products work well together and there is a lot of overlap. The closest "competition" (in design/function) is in New Zealand.
We are 100% prepared to begin production ourselves if that's what needs to happen, but now would be great time to make friends if there was someone out there who had the space, equipment, people, experience, to just take over this part for us. We have plans we want to work on for this product, but need to off load something because we have way too much going on to gracefully manage it all.
We are at a unique point in the business where we would fit well into someone elses managment and production systems because we need to get everything we know in our heads and all our documents consolidated and organized into a single location. I am not interested in being responsible for employees. We are not averse to relocating for 6mo-1yr to implement everything we know, do training, set up systems, etc... We do not have (by my standards) a tidy turn-key sort of thing ready for you just yet. This business is a work-in-progress, but we've made a TON of progress. It's ready to fly! Just need someone willing to put skin in the game to help us out with this next part.
ABOUT US: We are a happily married couple with 4 homeschooled kids under 10yo. It was early 2021 that a higher power put us in the right place at the right time and gave us the naive confidence that we could figure it out - we can, we are. We have business background having sold our business in 2020, but had zero manufacturing or machining experience. We have learned a lot and want to learn more. We have no intention of letting the brand down. Looking beyond our own egos, we know that now would be a very good time to bring in the right people to get this off the ground. We have genuine value to offer - though maybe a bit untraditional of a deal. BizBuySell brought us the most perfect buyers for our last business so maybe it will work well for this situation as well.
Ideally we are still heavily involved in the future of the business for a while, but maybe on more of a contract basis - project based instead of daily grind. Maybe we keep the shop space we have and equipment and continue to do product refurbs and local parts distribution. Maybe we hit the road to do a YouTube channel highlighting the characters who use our product and a detailed "how to" series to build confidence in a younger generation of user. YT bridges the generation gap. Because we have immersed ourselves so deep into everything that is this product and this market and the customers, we have a healthy list of R+D projects that we want to work on as the last big "development" came out in 1982. New units will not be a 1:1 remake of what was, but modernized while maintaining the spirit of the product.
Are you "our people"?
