Al Belmonte has been involved in the practice of real estate development and management for over thirty years.
He formed Wesley Realty Group, Inc. in 1991 as a multidisciplinary real estate company engaged in the practice
of property management, development, sales, leasing and appraisal. Prior to owning his own firm, Mr. Belmonte
worked for a real estate company and a non-profit economic development corporation in Chicago. He received
his B.S., in 1980, and M.S., in 1981, degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Mr. Belmonte is a licensed
real estate broker in the State of Illinois he is also a certified general real estate appraiser. He has developed a
number of new construction and substantial rehabilitation projects in the Chicago metropolitan area. He is a
licensed general contractor in Chicago and Evanston. In addition to his professional affiliations, Mr. Belmonte is
active in civic affairs through his role as past chairman and member of the Evanston Plan Commission, member
of the Evanston Zoning Commission, the Evanston Historical Society, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce,
Evanston Property Owners Association, the Rogers Park Builders Group and Housing Options for the Mentally Ill
in Evanston. He is married and lives in Evanston. He is an avid runner and cyclist, when his sore joints will allow.
