Alan’s special skills include designing creative occupancy strategies that support his client’s business platform. By understanding his clients’ business goals, objectives and culture he has created real estate transactions that not only enhance their business but also have transformed their company through the use of their real estate.
These professional strengths include strong financial and strategic backgrounds as former practicing CPA and later as a Harvard Business School graduate. In his 29 years as a tenant representative specialist in NYC he has built strong relationships among Manhattan’s premier Landlords. He leverages these relationships with his understanding of the inefficiencies of the real estate market to construct a competitive dynamic. This results in a consummation of a lease transaction with financial terms below the perceived current market value terms. In addition, we are able to negotiate lease provisions that grant more tenant flexibility than is common in the market place.
Alan currently serves on the Real Estate Board of New York Commercial Board of Directors
Prior to joining Colliers, Mr. Desino was a Senior Vice President with CB Richard Ellis and prior to that a Senior Auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co.
Alan has closed real estate transactions in excess of $1 billion through out his 23 year career, and has represented major financial institutions, technology companies and non profits.
