Alan began his career as an electrical engineer with Hamilton Sundstrand after graduating from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and earning his BSEE in electrical engineering in 1985, before becoming one of their business executives in 1987. Afterwards, Alan attended the London Business School on an MBA exchange program, obtaining his MBA from The University of Connecticut School of Business in 1992.
He opened his first business, Corky & Company, LLC in 1994. Alan likes to say his only failed business was ten years too early; if it had been set up in the 90s, he may well have been a dot com millionaire.
Alan serves as the Vice Chairman for the Fall River Office of Economic Development, Chair of the Board for the Southcoast Hospital Group, Director of San Pedro de Macoris, and makes regular donations to the Immaculate Conception Homelesss Shelter.
