Alan was raised in Carthage, Texas, graduated from Carthage High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a member in the Carthage Chamber of Commerce, Carthage Rotary Club, Panola County SFA Alumni Association, and is a lifetime member of the SFA Alumni Association. Alan also serves as a Reserve Deputy for Panola County Constable Precincts 1 and 4.
