Bio
Alan Weisman serves as Executive Managing Director at Helmsley Spear, LLC focusing on industrial, logistical and retail leasing and sales as well as commercial office leasing.
Mr. Weisman brings more than over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate and has been involved in more than 7 million square feet of transactions over the course of his career. Mr. Weisman concentrates on specializing on office and industrial tenants and owners, primarily in emerging and secondary areas of Manhattan and the Tri-State area.
Prior to joining Helmsley Spear, Mr. Weisman served as Executive Managing Director at Lee & Associates, where Mr. Weisman was awarded the Top Producer of 2016. Some of Mr. Weisman’s notable transactions were the leasing of 225,000 square feet at 450 West 15th Street to fashion designer Jeffrey, Phillips DePury and many others. Mr. Weisman arranged the sale of the land under The Chelsea Arts Tower to developers Young Woo and Jack Guttman and then sold 15 commercial condos in the tower before the 75,000 square foot building was completed. This resulted in Mr. Weisman being awarded 2nd place for the REBNY Deal of the Year in 2008.
In addition, Mr. Weisman worked with Grubb & Ellis for 23 years as a Senior Managing Director, having sold his company, N. Peter Burton, to them in 1992. At that time, Mr. Weisman represented the Pepsi Cola Metropolitan Bottling company and completed many transactions with them throughout the United States.
Mr. Weisman graduated from New York University where he earned his BA in Business Administration as well as attending University of Vermont. From 1983 to 1991, Mr. Weisman was an Adjunct Professor at NYU School of Professional Studies where he taught Advanced Real Estate Broker Licensing. Mr. Weisman is a proud father and grandfather and currently resides in Manhattan.
