Al offers experience in the sales and leasing of industrial, office, retail and investment properties in greater Fort Wayne, Indiana and throughout the nation. Al is an Indiana Licensed Real Estate Broker. He has been a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) since 1976. He served on the Board of the Society’s Foundation and was Chair of its Grants Committee. Al served as the Indiana State Chapter President in 1988, he served on the National Board of Directors, is a past member of the Long-Range Planning Committee of SIOR and was a past Chairman of the Convention Committee. Al started The Zacher Company in 1961. He has owned and operated his own firm for over 50 years in the industrial and commercial real estate brokerage business in Fort Wayne.
Al has been active in many Fort Wayne civic organizations. He currently serves on the Board of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the History Center, SCAN, the Friends of the Lincoln Collection and Channel 39 Public Television. He is a Committee Member, Onmibus Lecture Series, IPFW, and a past Board Member of the Indiana Innovation Center. He has served the Chamber of Commerce as Vice President and as Chairman of Committees to promote industry expansion. Al is past Chairman of Park Center, a regional mental health center. Past member of the Board of Directors of WBNI—the region’s Public Radio Station and served as Chairman of the Facilities Committee. Member and past President of Quest Club. Past Vice President and Board Member of the Civic Theater, a past Committee Chairman of United Way and past Board Member of the Tomask Foundation.
