Amy C. Williams is Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Cousins. The scope of her responsibilities includes orchestrating the leasing process, which includes leases, amendments, and other ancillary documentation, for almost 22 million square feet of office and mixed-use assets in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Dallas, Phoenix and Tampa. She also strategizes with and advises the leasing teams, asset managers, and joint venture partners regarding leasing and asset management related issues. Ms. Williams is also responsible for review and oversight of property management legal documentation across the portfolio. More recently, Ms. Williams expanded her role to assist the Cousins development team with ground leases, venture agreements and other development related matters. Ms. Williams started her career at Cousins Properties in September 2005 as Counsel, where she organized the leasing process, including drafting and negotiating, for developing and newly developed retail and mixed-use projects. During her “sabbatical” from Cousins Properties, Ms. Williams was Counsel at Sheley, Hall & Williams in Atlanta, Georgia from November 2009 through August 2012. At Sheley, Hall & Williams, Ms. Williams represented numerous real estate developers and institutional portfolio owners throughout the United States, with an emphasis in landlord representation. From 1998 through 2005, Ms. Williams had various roles at Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, ranging from Attorney for the Retail Division, brokerage Associate in the Tenant Representation Group, and Associate Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel.
