Anthony "Tony" J. DeTomaso joined Block & Company, Inc., Realtors in 1996, specializing in tenant representation, retail and restaurant leasing and sales, land sales, and investment sales. A 1974 graduate of Emporia State University, DeTomaso majored in Sociology with a minor in Psychology and Physical Education. He is a member of the Metropolitan Kansas City Board of Realtors, the Missouri Association of Realtors (MAR), National Association of Realtors (NAR) International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and is currently a CCIM candidate. DeTomaso comes to Block & Company, Inc., Realtors with over 20 years experience in retail sales, management and ownership. Until recently Anthony was president and owner of multiple retail businesses in Chicago. The Concept stores were large (15,000 square feet) retailing house wares and the smaller stores (2,000 square feet) retailing women’s high fashion designer apparel. Anthony was involved in every aspect of the business, which included site selection, store design, build out, and inventory control. Previous to entering the retail industry Anthony was employed at the nations second largest Western Union office, located in New York, where he was an account manager, sales marketing manager, office manager, and sales instructor/developer. Because of his extensive retail experiences Anthony works primarily in the retail market of the real estate industry. He represents landlords and has negotiated leases for over 450,000 square feet of shopping center space. At the same time, Anthony specializes in tenant representation and has been very successful representing various local companies, franchisees, and national companies such as Kmart and Radio Shack. He continues his relationships with several area developers as a site selector and represents them on land acquisitions for big box tenants. He has closed over $5,000,000 in land sales in which Home Depot, Target and other large retailers were involved. Also, Anthony represents buyers and sellers in investment sales. He has closed on a total of $13,200,000 of investment property. Anthony DeTomaso resides in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife, Doreen and daughter, Madeleine Anne.
