Armin Groeschel has been with Atapco Properties since 2004 and currently serves as Vice President of Development. His current oversight is focused primarily on the acquisition and development of Atapco’s industrial and mixed-use properties. Prior to moving into this position, Armin served as Director of Leasing and Sales, Director of Finance and Senior Development Manager. In those capacities, he was responsible for financial underwriting of all new projects, lease proposal management and coordination of closings, tax incentive and government grant securement, sourcing of construction and development loans ranging from $2,500,000 to $40,000,000, financial modeling analysis, all levels of entitlement and permitting, as well as management of all phases of construction.
Armin was the project manager for Atapco’s 1,000,000 square foot Steeplechase Business Park project in Capitol Heights, MD, for which he secured all development approvals and oversaw $55,000,000 worth of site infrastructure, class-A industrial building and retail construction. Armin’s prior development experience includes construction roles with Tompkins Builders (a subsidiary of Turner Construction), Monarch Construction, and Watts and Browning Engineers.
Notable experience includes his work on the 400,000 square-foot FDA Headquarters in College Park, MD and a 100,000 square-foot $17,000,000 FDA Lab in White Oak, MD.
Armin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nuremberg, a Masters of Science Degree in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University and an Executive MBA from Duke University.
