Bio
Bernie Wilimitis grew up in rural Indiana where he served in the Army National Guard and graduated from Purdue University with degrees in Industrial Technology and Agricultural Business. He later moved to New Mexico to work for Intel Corporation in various roles of manufacturing and engineering management, and new facility start-ups. After 14 years with Intel Corporation, he joined a proto-type scale solar company start-up heading up the operations as they transferred the product from proto-type to commercial manufacturing. After executing the US based greenfield LEED building start up, Bernie was responsible for site selection, government negotiations, and acquisition of an assembly factory in Germany. He later left the solar company to join a growth company as partner and was again responsible for site selection, government incentives, acquisition, and start-up of a second manufacturing location in a different region of the US.
Once Bernie sold his equity in the business, he started helping other manufacturing businesses with improving efficiencies, implementing processes, and re-structuring where needed. This brought him to Texas. Being married to a native Texan, he knew they would eventually want to reside in Texas and help his wife’s family move closer. While making the transition, Bernie reflected on the satisfaction he felt when setting up deals for commercial real estate and performing analysis to find the best deals that met his customer’s needs.
In 2015, Bernie joined as a partner in Patriot Mergers and Acquisitions Company. He quickly saw the need to become licensed in Texas Real Estate and did so in 2016. Upon achieving his Texas Real Estate License, he started interviewing multiple commercial real estate companies to determine the best group to partner with to handle the commercial real estate only deals coming out of his mergers and acquisitions company. Through the interviewing process, one company stood out for responsiveness, putting the customer first, focused drive for continuous improvement, and solid business acumen; Coldwell Banker Commercial Properties Unlimited. Bernie joined CBCPU in October 2016 as a Referral Agent.
Bernie is married to his wife Gena of 11 years, and grateful to reside in Brenham, TX where her family has all relocated; finally achieving their goal of getting family closer. Their kids consist of dogs, Longhorn cattle, donkeys, and horses. Bernie is also a professional horse trainer for 20 years and now donates his time to various rescue associations to assist them with the recovery of neglected horses so they may become safe and adoptable.
