Bio
Bill joined Baum Realty in May 2002. Since joining Baum Bill has represented Washington Mutual Bank in its astounding Chicago market rollout, arranging with his teammate, Greg Kirsch, more than 160 fully executed leases.
Prior to joining Baum, Bill worked at Northern Realty Group since 1996. Specializing in Tenant Representation, Bill worked with various national and local tenants throughout the Midwest. Most notably, and in addition to the Washington Mutual account, Bill is Panera Bread's exclusive broker in Chicago. Since taking on the account in 1996 he has represented Panera, or its single area franchisee in more than 55 completed transactions to date, accounting personally for nearly 10% of Panera's national store count.
From 1986 to 1995 Bill worked at Jones Lang LaSalle, specializing in the acquisition of institutional quality real estate on behalf of Pension Fund clients. During his tenure at LaSalle, Bill sourced, negotiated and closed on the acquisition of more than $500 Million of regional shopping centers, lifestyle centers, and office buildings.
In addition, while at Northern, Bill was the sole broker involved in completing a major suburban land assemblage that resulted in Poag and McEwen's development of Chicago's first lifestyle center, Deer Park Town Center. On behalf of Poag and McEwen and their financial partner Developer's Diversified, he assembled over 90 acres, and assisted in securing the required municipal approvals and public funding.
Bill has an MBA from Northwestern University's J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and a BA from Oberlin College. He lives in Evanston with his wife, Sona, and daughters Hannah and Lillian.
