Bio
Christopher Owles, Principal of Sinvin, has been a driving force in downtown commercial real estate for more than twenty years, purposefully helping both landlords and tenants achieve their goals. Starting with his early careers Owles was driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and developed a keen appreciation for design. He ran an art gallery and then a design firm that specialized in architectural interiors and furniture design. These experiences paved the way to the world of commercial brokerage where his love for design helped him match creative companies with architecturally significant properties. Owles has represented several high-profile tenants with their New York expansions, most prominently Away, Chobani, and James Perse. For each brand he completed multiple assignments, including both retail and office leases. Much of Owles’ time is spent on landlord representation projects on high-end retail blocks and he has enjoyed longstanding relationships and repeat business from many of his clients, some of which have now transitioned into a second generation of family ownership. In addition to his notable deals in and around Soho, Owles was instrumental in the early development of the Meatpacking District. He was hired to market three prominent buildings and rented them, totaling more than 150,000 sf, to Soho House, Vitra, Bumble and bumble, and Theory. Owles has been with Sinvin since 1998 and has been an owner, with partner Michael Glanzberg, since 2009. The two jointly grew the mid-sized firm into one of the most active niche brokerages where the firm’s focus has remained primarily in New York’s downtown markets. Owles’ notable accomplishments include both retail and office leasing, as well as investment sales. He is best known for his deep bench of retail work, fluidly guiding both ownership and tenants to secure deals with brands such as Chanel, Chloe, Dior, Fendi, Kenzo, Sonos, Ray Ban, and Tiffany & Co. Owles Is a longstanding member of REBNY and its Retail Committee
