He has attained both a Certified Residential Specialist (“CRS”) and Graduate Realtor Institute (“GRI”) designation. CRS and GRI members must meet professional and educational requirements to qualify for these designations. Of the more than one million licensed real estate professionals, less than 3% are Certified Residential Specialists and Graduate Realtor Institute members. Mr. Kaplan was the primary contributor to the formation and growth of Aspen Knolls Corp. (“AKC”), a privately-held single-family real estate development firm. Together with the CEO, AKC developed several complex and diverse projects. In particular, AKC developed a 1,000-unit townhome community, Aspen Knolls Estates, under a 20-year build-to-lease contract on Staten Island, New York, in support of Naval Station New York. Following termination of the 20-year build-to-lease contract with the U.S. Navy, managed AKC’s finances, corporate tax strategy, accounting, and sales operations of Aspen Knolls Estates, a 948 townhouse development, Staten Island, New York, valued more than $150 million.
