Craig is an expert in the commercial real estate industry with more than 25 years of experience. His brokerage clients have included some of Canada’s leading companies and entrepreneurs. Craig is the leading industry professional in opportunistic real estate, notably in value added historic and character-building spaces. He specializes in investment sales and office leasing in Toronto’s core and periphery areas.
Acting on behalf of his exclusive clients, Craig has negotiated over 1,000 commercial real estate transactions valuing billions of dollars. Most notably, Craig has brokered many of the acquisitions of Allied Properties’ historic and character buildings portfolio for the past two decades and was a builder of the Slate Leasing Strategies.
Craig was the Founder, President and Broker of Record of Ashlar Urban Realty, a full service Toronto-based commercial real estate firm founded in 1999 later acquired by Cushman & Wakefield in 2017. Ashlar Urban specialized in asset sales of urban land and buildings as well as office and retail agency leasing in Toronto. Craig was previously the General Manager and Senior V.P. of both Knowlton Realty and Torode Realty in Toronto.
Craig is active in a number of companies through his family holding company and is founder of several ventures including CMBS debt fund and a Student Housing Company (CHC). He also sits on various industry related boards and is active with numerous organizations as an acquisitions advisor. Craig was on the Board of Pinewood Studios and is the former president and member of the board of directors of NAIOP, Canada’s largest real estate Industry Association and is the current past President of the National Club.
