Darrell Plummer is broker/owner of Sierra Nevada Properties. As a fourth generation Nevadan, Darrell is a 1984 graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in business administration, with a special emphasis in finance, and a minor in economics. Fresh out of college, Darrell became a trust officer with First Interstate Bank of Nevada (now known as Wells Fargo), and then spent seven years as the Director of Economic Development with Sierra Pacific Power (now NV Energy). He joined Plummer & Associates in 1995 and took over as broker/owner in January 2001. In 2013, the company became Sierra Nevada Properties now with offices in Reno, Fernley and Fallon and over 115 real estate agents.
Darrell holds several real estate designations, including Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), ePro, and Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI). He is a former Dean and Founding Trustee of the Nevada REALTORS® Leadership Program. Darrell is the Past President of Delta Sigma Pi UNR Business fraternity (1984), Past President of the UNR College of Business Alumni Association (1990-1992), Past Chair of the UNR Dean’s Advisory Board (1998), and the recipient of the 1992 UNR College of Business Outstanding Alumnus Award for his professional and community involvement. He earned the UNR Professional Achievement award in 2017. Darrell is currently a member of the Reno Sparks Chamber of Commerce and past Board Chair in 2019. He was recognized with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Chamber’s Leadership Program in 1993. Darrell also served on the board of Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada, Northern Nevada Regional Multiple Listing Service, My Hometown Heroes, and was Past President of WIN (Western Industrial Nevada).
In 2019, Darrell was appointed by Governor Steve Sisolak to serve as a member of the Nevada Real Estate Commission and was named Chairman in June 2021. In August 2022 he was again nominated to serve his second 3-year term on the Commission. The commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Real Estate Division, adopts regulations, and conducts disciplinary hearings. He is truly honored after 27 plus years as a real estate professional to serve at this level.
With Darrell’s extensive real estate experience and community involvement, and more than 100 sales agents acting under his direction, Sierra Nevada Properties has maintained consistently high standards of customer service and support. In 2021 & 2022, Darrell was nominated in the most influential person category in the Northern Nevada Business Weekly Best in Business.
