Bio
David Kleiner is a Vice Chairman in JLL’s New York office. He currently focuses on owner’s representation and agency leasing for public and private companies and corporate sublandlords in Manhattan. Mr. Kleiner primarily represents properties in Midtown, but has successfully leased space in properties across New York City. He is also a skilled tenant representative who has facilitated successful acquisitions for all kinds of space in the Tri-state Region. In seeking to lease or sublease available space for landlord or corporate clients, Mr. Kleiner helps define goals, develop creative marketing strategies, identify and target credit tenant or subtenant candidates, access relationships to optimize exposure, and negotiate transactions that increase the value of agency properties. He collaborates with client teams to understand and leverage market conditions to position their properties in the competitive New York market while still fulfilling business objectives and pro formas. Mr. Kleiner has also successfully retained, expanded or extended commitments from existing building occupants, often more than once, thus avoiding the expenses associated with marketing a piece of vacant space. Mr. Kleiner joined JLL in 2001. Over the course of his 15-year tenure at JLL, Mr. Kleiner has completed more than 4 million s.f. of transactions on behalf of owners with many of the largest companies in the city, including Citibank, Kirkland & Ellis, L.P., Toyota Motor Corporation, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Ralph Lauren Corporation, The Travelers Companies, Inc. and General Motors Mr. Kleiner earned a bachelor of arts degree from Trinity College in 2001. He served as a member of JLL’s Leadership Council Advisory Board from 2010-2012. Mr. Kleiner achieved JLL’s National Agency Leasing Professional of the Year award in 2006. He has twice been part of the firm’s Agency Leasing Team of the year. Mr. Kleiner is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and its Plaza District Leasing Committee.
