Prior to joining Moran, Dave was responsible for multifamily acquisitions at Lincoln Property Company with a primary focus on value-added opportunities in the southwestern U.S. Prior to his time with Lincoln, Dave was the lead banker in Nomura Asset Capital Corp’s Dallas, Texas office, which he helped open and staff. From 1996-1998, Dave originated over $600M in new CMBS transactions for Nomura Securities – leading to a thorough understanding of the composition/structure/practical implications of servicing arrangements and their effect on the underlying assets. From 1986-1996, Dave worked in MetLife’s Real Estate Investments Department - where in the mid 1980’s he handled the foreclosure, asset management, and ultimate liquidation of a portfolio of +/- 5,000 multifamily units in Houston, TX. From 1988-90, Dave worked on Met’s Investment Committee in Atlanta, GA where he participated in the workouts of the Crow, Lincoln, and Vantage national joint venture portfolios. In the early 1990’s, Dave managed the workout of several large office, hotel and multifamily JV and foreclosure assets located in Dallas, TX. During 1993-1994, Dave was seconded to a Metlife subsidiary operation based in London where he led the workout team responsible for winding up a £200M portfolio of UK based non-performing real estate loans/assets.
