He discovered the missing key to his most important relationships and radically changed his life. By learning to listen to others’ hearts, he became fully present in his world and better able to serve those around him. After a successful 18-year career of owning and operating a catering company, he became a licensed REALTOR® in 2002. There were many reasons behind this change, but the biggest one was his four children. One day he noticed that his children were asleep when he left in the morning, He knew he had to change course.
Missing entire days of their life and not being there for them was not something he was willing to sacrifice any longer. He sold his catering business and began his real estate career. In 2008, he was going through a difficult period in his family, lost both his parents and was struggling through the recession. His faith wavered, but in one of those most difficult moments, God spoke to him and let him know that He would always be with him and love him. Not long after, he met Don Nava who helped him realize that while he had accepted Jesus, he needed to be ALL IN with his Lord, Jesus Christ. After learning how to listen to the Holy Spirit, he sensed to share what he learned with others.
In 2018, he began meeting with men one-on-one to talk with them about their life. In their sessions, we explore how they can incorporate the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23, NASB). He is learning to cooperate with the Holy Spirit within him to transform his mind, will, and emotion. Troy Albano was another person that God placed in his life who has been used in a huge way to impact his life. He has been assisting him with his ministry Discipleship Duplication which he is committed to teach others of their identity in Jesus Christ.
Recently he had another life changing experience. Since childhood, he was looking for acceptance/approval from most everyone he came in contact with because he was embarrassed with his physical body God created. He has been hiding behind his nickname "Pooch" so he would draw attention away from his chest that has a right pectoral muscle that did not develop. Even his sternum is not located in the middle of his chest. His whole rib cage is twisted so his right shoulder blade sticks out. He has been believing the lies in his head that he needed to have a cover so that people would even think about being with him.
So, taking on a nickname would give him an opportunity to win people over before they realized he had a physical defect. Wow! He looks back now at the many times he diverted the attention away from his physical body to make people laugh. It was a way of winning them over.
He was the good fun loving "Pooch" that all people loved. And of course, he is that way YET he thought he needed to be that way so others would accept him, and he would gain their approval. He bought into the LIE big time all these years. But now he is no longer called Pooch.
His name is David, the beloved one of God. Praise Jesus! For him, faith and family are his top priorities, and part of that is being of service to others. While he enjoys spending time with his family, he also finds joy in helping others live their best, most fulfilling lives. His favorite part of being a REALTOR® is the excitement that fills the room once he helps his clients fulfill their real estate needs either thru selling and/or buying a home. As his REALTOR®, he will be here to guide and support you through this process.
