Derek brings a service-oriented business approach to real estate. A graduate of the University of Oregon in Computer and Information Sciences with over 8 years of experience as a software design engineer and consultant for a top Honolulu firm servicing clients in Hawaii and the mainland, he utilizes the communication, dedication, attention to detail and analytical skills of his previous profession combined with over 16 years of full-time real estate experience to service his clients real estate needs. Dedicated to continually pursuing professional development and higher education in his field.
Derek is deeply committed to giving back to his community and his profession. He currently serves as a director-at-Large for the Honolulu Board of Realtors, as the First Vice President for the statewide Hawaii Association of Realtors and as a Federal Political Coordinator for the National Association of Realtors representing all realtors in the State of Hawaii.
Derek was also the 2017 president of HiCentral MLS and the chair of the Honolulu Board of Realtors City Affairs Committee from 2015-2018. Outside of real estate, Derek is a past president (2016, 2017) of the Board of Directors for the United Cerebral Palsy Association and served as chair of the board for the state's Hawaii Technology Development Corporation from 2018-2019.
