Derek is an experienced proven negotiator whose core competency is in strategy development, ensuring his clients the maximum value from every real estate transaction.
Derek partners with Lee Billinkoff, Senior Vice President, Office Leasing Toronto, and together they specialize in providing real-estate services to multi-national clients looking to expand to Canada and the United States. They have represented some of North America’s most prestigious clients including: BMO where he re-negotiated the bank’s largest lease, PricewaterhouseCoopers where he negotiated the launch of their new office building located at 18 York St. in Toronto, Ernst & Young, Accenture, Thomson Reuters, Ipsos North America, TD Bank, The Gartner Group, Unilever Canada and several of Canada’s most distinguished legal firms.
Derek is consistently one of the top five sales professionals in the country and has also received the Award of Excellence, the highest recognition by the company of sustained sales excellence. He is an executive member of Cushman & Wakefield’s Trep Group (international best practices) and a member of the CFO Round Table (executive development).
In addition, Derek is the founder and President of Fronteer Development, a residential subdivision development company in which he drove revenues from $2.5M/yr to over $10M/yr in just 3 years and turned the company public.
He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Degree in Economics.
