Derrick's expertise includes transactions involving relocations, development, dispositions, as well as port related uses. He began his real estate career at Schuler Properties, where he was a real estate consultant for national and local corporations for a variety of industrial product types, including manufacturing, investment, distribution, and government agencies.
Prior to joining Neil Walter Company, Derrick was a Senior Associate at Kidder Mathews and the manager of industrial real estate at the Port of Tacoma from 2005-2010. During his tenure, he was the lead for acquiring property for marine terminal development, totaling over $180 million. He also managed the Frederickson Industrial Area, which included negotiating land sales and entitlements for Pierce County’s largest industrial warehouse; the IKEA distribution facility.
Derrick is a former PGA member and active golf tournament player.
