Don Schinella is an associate broker for Select Realty and has been a real estate agent for over 24 years. He was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and has lived in Marquette County for 35 years. He has been married to Joyce for 33 years and together they raised four children. He belongs to the local Methodist church and donates his time to serve on several church committees. Surprisingly, Don’s journey to selling real estate was quite different from many others.
He started out with a passion to live on beautiful Teal Lake, which was a large undertaking that used all his attributes like hard work, dedication, integrity, and attention to detail in its fullest order to make a project like this come to fruition. He developed, arranged to finance, and negotiated a large real estate transaction with a major steel company that owned the property on Teal Lake since Abraham Lincoln was president. He was successful with purchasing, developing, and selling each lot in the 22-lot subdivision, where he now lives. This first project is what introduced him to selling lake properties, luxury homes, new construction, and residential and commercial development properties.
Don has always worked 24 hours, 7 days a week when needed for his clients. He believes strongly that it is not only his duty to represent his clients to the best of his ability, but also to educate them throughout the process so they can make the best possible decisions. Don is a believer in giving back to the community through his church and other organizations that help others in many different ways. As an avid outdoors person, he enjoys fishing, biking, hiking, hunting, and water sports whenever he gets the chance and likes to visit his children and grandson who reside in Arizona.
