Bio
As Senior Vice President, Ed Flenner specializes in representing non-profit organizations and embassies with the buying, selling, and leasing of commercial real estate property in Washington, DC. Ed has 30 years of experience working in commercial real estate throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area. He previously served as Director at Studley, then as senior director at The Charles E. Smith Companies (CES). While at CES, he began his specialty with nonprofit organizations—always working to maximize office efficiencies and simultaneously achieve the best economic terms. During this time, Ed also established his contemporary team approach to providing nonprofit organizations with comprehensive resources for acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate. By integrating in-house construction management with brokerage services, Ed increased process efficiency and mitigated risk involved with acquiring commercial space. Prior to joining Transwestern, Ed served as senior vice president at The Meyer Group and then at MGA where he continued his focus of representing nonprofit organizations and embassies. He has developed an expertise advising 501c3 organizations in buying commercial buildings utilizing District of Columbia Industrial Revenue (Low-Interest Rate) Bonds (aka Tax-Free Bonds). This specialized knowledge is part of Ed’s continued commitment to helping non-profit organizations save significant money on their occupancy costs. In all his tenant-representation work, Ed is committed to excellence and the highest level of integrity in representing non-profit organizations.
