Bio
Eric Draper was reared in Charlotte, North Carolina and attended the Charlotte Country Day School. He went on to study History at the University of Georgia. Afterwards he moved to Charleston, SC and continued his studies at the College of Charleston, working on his masters in American History and a teaching degree. The master’s program was cut short as Draper took a once in a lifetime opportunity and accepted the position as tour manager for one of the largest touring acts in the country, Widespread Panic. Draper worked for four years as the point person for a 35 man, 4 truck, and 4 bus touring act, grossing nearly $25 million in ticket sales each year. After working in every state in the country, Draper retreated to Charleston in 2001 to finish his teaching certificate. Once complete, he began teaching at Garrett Academy of Technology in North Charleston. After laboring on a teacher’s salary, Eric decided it was time to change careers again and threw himself full-time into real estate. Having owned rental property since the mid-90’s, he was well versed in creating cash flow with rentals. Building on that knowledge base, Draper began “flipping” dilapidated properties as well as general brokerage or assisting others with buying and selling real estate. The natural progression led him to build a handful of houses in the Charleston area. In 2008 Draper accepted a position on the Town of James Island Board of Zoning Appeals. He stayed on the Board until 2010 when he moved out of the town limits. Draper went on to work as a Broker Associate with Carolina One earning awards for the “Most Positive” in 2011, Top Listing Agent in 2012, and achieved the highly coveted “Realtor of Distinction” in 2013. In early 2014, Draper decided to break away and start his own firm, “The Charleston Real Estate Group.” Following up on his commitment to community, he has been appointed to the City of Folly Beach Board of Zoning Appeals. Draper is married and has three children.
