Bio
For almost 40 years, Erik Fulkerson has been bringing buyers & sellers and landlords & tenants together for their mutual economic benefit. Founding Crest Commercial Real Estate in 1990, as a native of Dallas and now having been through three major real estate downturns and several upswings, Erik uses his experience to help his clients thrive in the good times and to take advantage of the unique opportunities that can be found even in challenging markets. Erik has a broad range of experience. In leasing, he has represented tenants from as small as a Christmas tree lot operator to some of the largest retailers in their category such as Regis Corporation, known worldwide. He has completed deals with O’Reilly Auto Parts, Office Depot, Pizza Hut, the city of Irving library system, and one of the world’s largest private pension funds - Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association. In sales, he has successfully completed transactions with institutional investors such as Travelers Insurance Company, Midway Development, Guaranty Bank, and the Resolution Trust Corporation. He once represented the highest bidder in a $182 million retail portfolio purchase. He has represented properties sold through national auctions and he even has experience in managing and selling properties held in the somewhat unusual entity formation for this area called Tenants In Common. Erik grew up in the Preston Hollow area of Dallas and graduated from Cistercian Preparatory School before attending Trinity University in San Antonio, TX where he earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in marketing. After a short time in Houston working for a major banking institution in their officer training program, Erik found his passion in commercial real estate. Since then, Erik has averaged 3-4 sales per year, and between 24-36 leases, while also managing what is currently about half a million square feet of shopping centers. He also enjoys consulting with clients on development plans and even testifies as an expert witness in cases involving retail properties. Erik spent eight years on the board of directors for a local credit union, two years on the board of directors for a local theater company, president of his children’s private school parent-teacher association, and was active for 9 years as an adult leader for the Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of the North Texas Association of Real Estate Professionals (NTCAREP), the Institute of Real Estate Managers (IREM), and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Erik is a private pilot and enjoys time at his family’s vacation home near Winter Park, CO, and traveling with his wife and three sons.
