The leader at the helm of the Shepherd Group LLC is real estate industry veteran and financial engineer Frank Sakelaris. Frank began his career with the Chicago Tribune, where he was involved with the repositioning, renovation and leasing of the Tribune Tower. Later, he served as Vice President/Regional Manager for CenterPoint Properties, the largest owner of institutional-quality industrial properties in metropolitan Chicago, before forming the Shepherd Group in 2002. With Shepherd Group LLC, Mr. Sakelaris has brought his multi-faceted experience to negotiate more than 400 commercial and 200 residential leases. He has played a major role in the purchase or sale of multi-million dollar properties, and has facilitated management issues for millions of square feet in office, retail, industrial and multi-unit residential properties. He has also worked on several redevelopment projects and served as a court-appointed receiver for properties in Illinois and Indiana.
Mr. Sakelaris’ is a licensed real estate broker (Illinois), Certified Public Accountant and is a designated CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Manager). Memberships include the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA), the Commercial Real Estate Organization (CREO), the Real Estate Investors Organization (REIA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois Certified Public Accountant Society.
