Fred Burstein is a Vice President at CBRE, working with the Occupier Restructuring & Disposition Services Group. With more than 40 years in real estate, Fred is a key advisor to a wide range of clients in developing their real estate strategies. Working with clients on the restructuring and disposition aspects of their occupancy, he helps to evaluate leases, determine best-case scenarios for sublease/termination opportunities, and analyzes occupancy commitments bringing cost-saving solutions to his clients. Responsible for disposition, rent reduction, lease modification and lease termination projects, Fred is instrumental in helping world-class brands create more value in their portfolios. Prior to joining CBRE, Fred was with DJM Real Estate, a Gordon Brothers Group Company where he represented numerous clients including Winn-Dixie, Albertson’s, Food Lion, Circuit City, Blockbuster and Borders Books. Before joining DJM Real Estate, Fred was Vice President, Properties & Administration for A&P, where he was responsible for store disposition and subleasing, lease financing, lease administration and leasing of company-owned shopping centers. During his tenure at A&P, he disposed of more than 500 stores. Previously Fred was also involved with real estate syndication, and was Vice President of Real Estate at Channel Home Centers and a real estate attorney at Kelly Drye and Warren and W.R. Grace.
