Some of my clients have told me "Garratt, you're a real estate swiss army knife!" I'll take it! After all, I have dedicated my career (and my life) to this business and I absolutely love it! Below please find a little bit of information about me, what I love about this business and what makes me excited about the future.
First of all, I have know since graduate school that my calling is real estate. I graduated with an MBA and went to work with an international real estate development consulting firm and never looked back.
I have served my clients for over 15 years as an advisor, an acquisition and development consultant and commercial and residential Broker structuring deals and managing transactions across a broad spectrum of property-types including raw land, agricultural, commercial, health care, educational, single-family and multifamily residential developments.
I'm also an experienced and award-winning real estate developer here in the high country of Colorado and I'm a veteran LEED Accredited Professional with specialization in Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C) with the US Green Building Council helping builders and developers not only keep up with sustainable design and construction trends but to exceed expectations through high-performance development, yielding greater operational profitability as well as greater occupant health and comfort.
I hold an MBA with emphases in marketing and international business and I bring with me years of applied, hands-on experience managing the full profit-critical path of the real estate lifecycle, from planning and financing to land acquisition and entitlements, through design, construction to brokerage, marketing and sales.
That's all fine and dandy, but none of that experience would be very useful if I didn't know my markets inside-out. This I do, serving my savvy clients as a Principal and Broker with Mountain Life Real Estate.
Mountain Life Real Estate is a boutique brokerage firm specializing in concierge-level services to a global clientele including the purchase, marketing and sales of raw land, single-family homes, condos, new development, resort properties and luxury vacation rentals, as well as the marketing and sales of Mountain Life Development Group's proprietary developments.

In 2018 I earned the Crypto Certified Agent™ designation (the first in the State of Colorado to do so, and among the very first in the nation) which enables me to facilitate the purchase and sale of real estate assets for clients using digital currencies.
In early 2019, I was elected as a US Regional Chair to the Foundation for International Blockchain and Real Estate Expertise (FIBREE) which is propelling the global adoption of innovative blockchain-related technologies in the real estate industry.
As an elected US Regional Chair at the Foundation for International Blockchain and Real Estate Expertise (FIBREE), I build community around the intersection of blockchain technology and the real estate industry and am a primary point of contact in the US for the world's largest blockchain + real estate business network. FIBREE is the leading global network for knowledge exchange between the real estate industry, the IT sector and blockchain technology.
On a more local note, I am deeply engaged in a civic sense and value lending my time and experience to support my broader community. I have served as a 3-term appointed Summit County Planning Commissioner helping guide critical community development and housing initiatives, experience through which I have acquired a valuable insider viewpoint of development from the municipal perspective.
Also, I have served for the last 10 years as a Board Director for High Country Conservation Center, developing sustainable solutions for our greater community including significantly contributing to the 2020 Summit Sustainable Building Code which is now driving the growth and development of high-performance, energy-efficient housing across Summit County.
