Bio
Gary Martin has been privileged to be involved in a wide variety of transactions during his eighteen years in the commercial real estate industry. He is a Principal Broker and partner with C.W. Walker & Associates, Inc. and has had experience in selling and leasing many types of commercial real estate, including industrial, medical, retail, multi-family, and residential development land. Some of these projects include brokering the sale of the Harvest House Publishing Building, the Westmoreland Medical Center, the Lumber Products Building, the Ethan Allen Store, brokering the purchase of 1400 Executive Parkway office Building and the Koke Printing Building that Eugene Christian School now occupies.
Gary Martin successfully completed work on the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2010. The CCIM curriculum consists of four core courses that incorporate the essential CCIM skill sets: financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis for commercial investment real estate.
Mr. Martin’s construction and real estate experience began in 1976 when he started building houses and doing some commercial construction with his own company. Gary built over 30 homes and a restaurant before beginning work in 1983 for Dunham Olds-Cadillac. His responsibilities included business and sales management. Gary spent 21 years at Dunham with the last several years as General Sales Manager. Gary worked as Construction Manager for C.W. Walker Construction, LLC helping build a medical clinic in Springfield in 2004.
Gary’s ownership and management of a medical office building, a nine-unit apartment building and an industrial building gives him a unique perspective and understanding of the challenges that owners face. His 47 years of construction experience are helpful as he guides tenants and landlords through the tenant Improvement process.
Over the last few years, Gary, along with a business partner, purchased land, developed and sold 66 residential building lots in the River Road area. More recently, they purchased property and had it rezoned and then built a nine-unit apartment complex for their portfolio.
Gary has been married to his wife, Joan for 45 years and they have two adult children. Gary is active in the community, a lifelong Eugene resident, graduate of the University of Oregon and feels blessed to live in this wonderful community.
