Gerry directs investment sales and real estate investment banking activities throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and is a member of Transwestern’s Board of Directors. Based in Washington, D.C., his primary focus is originating, structuring and executing commercial investment sales and capital market transactions for institutional, corporate, and private owners of real estate. Gerry has more than 30 years of real estate transaction experience representing over $15 billion in value. Since joining Transwestern in 1999, Gerry has sold over 30 million square feet of commercial properties in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Gerry’s clients include local investors as well as institutional firms such as AEW, ARA, ASB, Ares, Alex. Brown, Blackrock, Brookfield, Cambridge, Cigna, CARR Properties, CDC, Clarion Partners, Cornerstone, Dweck Properties, GE, HSBC Private Bank, ING, JP Morgan, JOSS Realty, KBS, LNR, Minshall Stewart, Pearlmark, Penzance, Piedmont, PNC Realty, Principal, Prudential, Polinger, Morgan Stanley, Nextel, Northwestern, State Farm, Travelers, STRS Ohio, TA Associates, TIAA-CREF and Westport Capital. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS Before joining Transwestern, Gerry served as an advisor to Travelers, where he was responsible for the disposition of a national portfolio of assets acquired through a merger. Prior to that, Gerry was a director at USF&G Realty Advisors, a real estate advisory firm that provided a wide variety of financial and agency services to institutional clients. His responsibilities included development, portfolio management, and advisory services. His primary clients were TIAA-CREF and Legg Mason. Prior to USF&G, Gerry performed acquisitions in the structured finance department and served as an asset manager for Westinghouse Credit. In this capacity, he was involved in the acquisition of sale/leaseback transactions, the workout of real estate loans and leveraged equities, and the liquidation of national portfolio.
Education
BS in Electrical Engineering from VA Tech and MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. Gerry also holds the CFA designation.
