Gretchen's love for Colorado began more than 30 years ago as her family moved from Washington State to Colorado Springs where she began attending Air Academy High School. Her love continued to grow in 1993 as she purchased her very first home in the community of Briargate in beautiful Colorado Springs. Every morning as she walked up the staircase, she would stare in awe at the purple mountain majesty sunrise reflecting off of Pikes Peak. This image remains fresh in her memory to this day.
Her family expanded, they sold their Colorado Springs home and moved to Arizona where she was a stay-at-home mother of 3 amazing children. As the children grew, she took on experiences of teaching her own kindergarten class (she had done my student teaching in Colorado Springs District 20), substitute teaching, being a registrar and teacher at a charter high school, owning and managing a mortgage brokerage, investing in and managing her own real estate properties. In 2004 she courageously began her own company for fixing and flipping real estate properties. She learned a lot and had great success. Unfortunately, she felt the impact of the 2007-2008 real estate crisis; however, it wasn't long before she was back at it wholesaling residential real estate properties. With a desire to keep learning and growing in the real estate business, she obtained my Arizona real estate license in 2014.
In 2017, her children had been off in the world as adults for quite some time and she knew it was time for a change. She seized the opportunity to move back to Colorado and manage commercial and residential properties that her family owns. Unexpectedly, she ended up managing their family-owned automotive repair shop in Woodland Park. It was quite a change, as she knew very little about automotive repair!
Early in 2020 she decided to obtain her Colorado real estate license. She recently activated my license with EXIT Realty Pikes Peak. She has felt so welcome and supported. She is continually impressed with EXIT Realty's training, professionalism and expertise. She loves how EXIT Realty so generously gives back to the community and is dedicated to putting people first. This is such a perfect fit for her!
Her top priority in life has always been FAMILY!! Outside of her career in real estate, she volunteers with a global company that provides personal growth and development training. She is privileged to have been able to travel (pre-Covid times) to London, Canada and various locations throughout the United States to deliver these courses to young people, teenagers and their families. It truly has been the one of the most rewarding experiences in her life to be able to make a difference in the lives of young people, teenagers and their parents. She knows the ripple effects will be seen in future generations forever.
