Bio
Howard's career in real estate spans thirty-two years in various capacities, both as developer and retailer. Prior to joining Samuels & Associates in 2001, Howard was a principal at Katz & Associates, a national real estate consulting firm which he founded with Katz, former President of Melville Corporation's real estate department. In this capacity he consulted to several national retailers such as Linens ‘N Things, KB Toys, Bob's Stores and Galyan's.
Prior to Katz & Associates, Howard was Senior Vice President of Real Estate, Construction & Store Planning for Marshall's, a division of Melville Corporation (prior to their acquisition by TJX Companies). In the 1980's, Howard formed and operated his own development company and spent ten years building nine shopping centers in New England. Howard has also held posts as Northeast Vice President of Melville Corporation's Mall Division, New England Director of Real Estate for CVS Drug Stores and Corporate Real Estate Manager for Fotomat Corporation.
Howard is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He also served as President of NACORE (International Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives) in 1994 and won the prestigious Executive of the Year award in 1995.
Howard holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts.
