Howard J. Layton, CCIM, MAI, serves as Principal Broker for Colliers International offices in Utah. Howard has more than 35 years of broad-based experience in the real estate industry, including brokerage, appraisal, consulting, property management, and development services. He has specialized in the brokerage of land, investment, office, special use, and government leased properties, along with consulting services. Whether it be through brokerage, valuation, or advisory services, Howard is committed to helping Colliers International agents and clients achieve their real estate goals and objectives. Previously, Howard served as a managing director for Coldwell Banker Commercial's Salt Lake City office, overseeing education and training for the firm, recruiting, the development of tools and resources, mentoring, contracts and general management duties. Demonstrating his commitment, knowledge, and experience to commercial real estate brokerage, Layton has earned the CCIM, MAI, and CRE designations. On several occasions Howard has been appointed by his peers to lead three of the premier commercial real estate organizations in Utah - The Appraisal Institute, CCIM Chapter, and the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) , as Chapter President. Howard graduated cum-laude from the University of Utah, with a degree in finance and real estate. He is a life-long Utah resident, and loves skiing, music, water sports, golf and spending time with his family.
