Bio
Jack Weiss graduated from The University of Texas in 1973 and has been in the commercial real estate business in Austin since 1987. Specializing in retail transactions, Jack has over twenty years of experience in leasing, land brokerage, and tenant representation.
After beginning his real estate career in San Antonio with Paragon Properties, Jack relocated to Austin, and served in various capacities with Fuller Commercial Brokerage, Henry S. Miller/Grubb & Ellis, and Charter Real Estate Company, before settling in with Quick and Company in 1996.
During this time, Jack focused primarily on shopping center leasing and tenant representation, completing numerous transactions with Home Depot, Chili’s, IHOP, Schlotzsky’s, Blockbuster Video, PF Chang’s, and numerous regional and local clients. In addition to working with retailers and restaurants, Jack also has considerable experience in land sales for hotels, apartments, and car dealerships, in addition to finding development sites for shopping centers and large retailers. This experience has given him an in depth understanding of the complicated entitlement process required for any type of development in the Austin area.
Beginning in 2003, Jack turned his focus to shopping center development on his own behalf. His first major project, Parmer McNeil Plaza, a 51,000 square foot, seven building neighborhood center opened to much acclaim in 2005. While still maintaining selected clients and tenant representation accounts, Jack is now focusing on brokerage and retail development. He has recently brokered numerous land tracts and income properties and maintains ownership positions in several retail and industrial properties. Current projects include a development on IH-35 in Round Rock, sale of a large retail site in the Four Points area, and the disposition of several land parcels in the environmentally sensitive southwest Austin area. He is also brokering a ground lease in downtown Dallas for a major office tower development.
