Bio
Jag Patel was born in Malawi, Africa, grew up in England and studied Civil Engineering at the University of Wales.
After moving to the USA in 1991 at the age of 23, he worked for various companies before discovering the hospitality industry. He fell in love with the service business where he remained for approximately the next 20 years. During this time he worked in the food and beverage departments of hotels such as the Hyatt Regency and Pan Pacific Hotel Group, while at the same time managing some limited service hotels until he finally bought his first hotel, a 54-room Ramada in 1999.
Seeking a change and wanting to encounter new challenges, Jag joined Marcus and Millichap in 2013 where he started his career in commercial real estate sales. His experience in hotel and food and beverage operations gives Jag a unique insight that allows him to value assets accurately while also pointing out the potential for a new owner to capitalize on and become successful.
Jag has been married to his wife Rita for 26 years. His life-long hobby and interest is in the practice of Martial Arts (Karate). He was the British Freestyle Fighting Champion at age 16 and Central California Karate Champion at age 25.
