James P. McKissick is an entrepreneur, an experienced financial analyst, and a real estate expert. He is a graduate of the top-rated Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance.
He began his career by launching and successfully building a specialty beverage business, handling all aspects of financing and managing operations and marketing. He then obtained certifications in finance and worked as a financial advisor for several companies, including the Fortune 500 companies of Merrill Lynch and SunTrust, where he was continually a top performer. James’ passion for finance led him into a career of real estate; interested in the tangible aspect of investing in real estate. He ventured into luxury residential real estate with The Cliffs Communities where he was recognized for his excellence in customer service. He went on to gain commercial real estate experience with a national company, specializing in office and investment properties, and generating more than $8 million in transaction volume in two years.
Embracing his entrepreneurial spirit once again, James decided to launch his own real estate and property management company, Convergent Property Group, so he could focus on what he enjoys most about business; building relationships and providing unparalleled customer service.
James is active in the Greenville community with organizations such as Leadership Greenville, the United States Tennis Association, Southern, South Carolina where he has been elected treasurer and oversees its 1.2 million dollar annual budget, and an active member and leader at Christ Church Episcopal. He is also an adjunct professor for Clemson University’s Master in Real Estate Development program where he lectures in finance. In his personal time, he enjoys running, playing tennis, visiting the beach, and most of all, spending time with his beautiful family that includes his wife of 18 years, two daughters, and a son. James is fulfilled by his purpose to help others make sound financial decisions and to provide for his family. He aspires to travel the world, and looks forward to continuing the building of a successful real estate company that assures his clients that he will take care of their needs and their properties.
